“Food For Thought”

“Food for thought” is a phrase you may have heard once or twice. It implies you are taking the time to look a little deeper into the inner workings of something. In this case, I would like to provide you with a little mental nourishment and encourage you to look a little deeper at the power of your thoughts.

Our subconscious mind is basically a super computer and you are the programmer. In fact, it doesn’t understand sarcasm or jokes. It listens to what you tell it and actually tries to carry out all your wishes, desires and keep you safe.

For example:

Example 1: Starting up a new exercise routine for most often starts out strong, you go to the gym and the next day you wake up feeling sore, maybe you go a few more times while thinking the whole time, “this is hard, this workout is killing me, I’m going to die if I do that again.” Your brain hears that and goes “We can’t have that!” So it turns up the desire to not go back to protect you and help you avoid that pain.

Example 2: It has been a long busy day, you worked hard and actually may have missed a meal. You come home and say “I haven’t eaten all day, I’m so hungry I could eat a horse!” Your brain hears that and goes “Wow, he’s starving and needs to eat! So it turns off the receptors that tell your body when it’s full and you end up over-eating feeling bloated and uncomfortable.

As a society we have become rather lax with our thoughts, most of the time never truly meaning the things we say. Becoming more mindful and understanding how powerful our mind is, how powerful our thoughts are will start making a huge difference in our perceptions of ourselves. Our mind is always listening!

Take a moment to reflect and think about your daily thoughts.
-What directions are you giving your mind?
-What are you programming your mind to believe about yourself?

Your words can either empower you or block you from growing! Your brain is listening and always taking your direction. Start feeding it with thoughts that will move you forward in your life. It’s never to late to start taking positive steps to bettering yourself!

Is The Need For Control Negatively Affecting Me?

The struggle to have stability in your life is an indicator that there was a time in your life where you felt like you had very little of it.  The experience inadvertently causes you to seek a sense of control in your day to day life. When feeling a lack of control, we tend to “over-correct” situations.

They show up in the form of:

  • Worry
  • Anxiety
  • Overthinking
  • Overanalyzing
  • Doubting

By focusing on the “what if” scenarios it tends to “help” you feel prepared, as well as gives yourself a sense of security, safety and control. What if by doing those things, it actually impacts you negatively?

For example:

  • Worrying exerts a lot of time and energy trying to control things that are out of your control. Causing stress as well as time and energy you cannot get back.
  • Thinking of potential problems potentially opens the door to draw these situations to you.
  • Overanalyzing causes you to look for all possible angles to help you anticipate your needs.  If you are looking for it to happen, you are essentially manifesting it in your life.
  • Doubt causes you to lower your expectations to protect yourself from disappointment, unconsciously signaling to your subconscious what your preferred outcome is.

Your subconscious will do everything it can to help protect you based upon your unconscious beliefs and experiences. Feeling a lack of control or experiencing instability is linked to beliefs of feeling powerless.

Close your eyes and ask yourself these questions:

  • Can you remember the first time you ever felt powerless in your life?
  • How far back does it show in your childhood?
  • Who is involved?
  • How did it make you feel?
  • How does this feeling hinder you in your current day to day life?

Releasing these emotions, unhealed pain, and learned beliefs from this situation…it will allow you to experience a new perspective, give you control of your future thoughts, display healthier reactions, and identify more choices in life. Giving you a physical, mental, and emotional transformation allowing your best version of yourself to shine through!

Creating The Life You Deserve

“You make a Belief and the Belief makes you!”

From the moment we are born, our lives were made up of interactions and experiences. These events formed beliefs based on what we observed as well as personally experienced. Ultimately, creating the very person we are today!

As children we are dependent on getting our needs met by others. The most common roles we took on to fulfill the love and attention we needed were by becoming:

  • The Achiever- getting good grades/athletic.
  • Having Illnesses/Injuries.
  • The Caregiver- taking care of others.
  • The Struggler- having difficulties.

Some associated beliefs of these roles that we take on may be: I am not enough, I need to be perfect to be loved, my wants and needs come last, nothing ever comes easy to me, or I am not worthy of being loved. Unmet childhood needs will continue to affect a person throughout their lifetime. Until that need is met these beliefs/roles show up in our lives through our behavior, perceptions, and thought patterns. All of which come from the subconscious part of our brain.

Our subconscious mind controls 95% of our lives! It is a super computer that is always alert/recording and working in the background. It uses your emotions, memories, beliefs, values, and habits to create your reactions and behavior of every minute of every day. Looking at your current life, are there things you wish you could change for yourself? Any relationships, negative thoughts/beliefs, habits, or suppressed emotions caused by pain/trauma?

There are four ways to change the subconscious mind:

  • Significant Event
  • Hypnosis
  • Energy Psychology
  • Repetition

ThetaHealing is a form of Energy Psychology.  Using ThetaHealing we can facilitate Healing in all aspects of your life by releasing these issues and instill healthy emotions on a cellular level. Giving you a physical, mental, and emotional transformation allowing your best version of yourself to shine through!
